Rew calibration file download

My ECM-8000 Mic just arrived. I have downloaded its Generic Calibration file from the Downloads section of HomeTheaterShack & loaded it into REW. At this stage, I need to know two things--1. My Sony Vaio Laptop has a dedicated Mic input, so I guess I will not need any Mic preamp for using the ECM-8000??? 2.
